I am electric. Seriously.

You know when you get a static shock? That little shock that makes you think, "ooh! ya got me you bastard!"? Well, multiply that by 1000, and you will get the idea of what I went through, the day after chemo. I'm on a type of chemo called FOLFOX (no, I'm not telling you the full name, google it). One of the side effects is extreme cold sensitivity, and the feeling of an electric shock (or pain, in my case), that jolts through your body every time you touch something. I couldn't type, I couldn't move my fingers, or apply ANY pressure to them whatsoever, without an extreme jolt running through my fingers and hands. The feeling was INSANE - I've never felt anything like this before. I tried to open the package of my trusty CBD vape pen, and I couldn't even open the box. I was shakin' and shockin' all over the place. Thankfully, after a few puffs of my vape, the pain subsided a little. Apparently, this is an extreme reaction, but of course, as luck would have it, this happened to me. I spoke to the doctor about it yesterday, and they will reduce the dose of the "shock" medicine for tomorrow's round of chemo. THANK GOD. The sensitivity to cold is also crazy...I have to wear gloves inside the house, can't drink or eat anything cold, can't even open a drawer with a metal handle. Thankfully, this goes away after a few days after chemo, but it takes a lot of getting used to. Everything you've automatically done since you were a child, you now have stop and think before you grab a glass of water, or open the fridge, or hold a fork...I hope my next cycle is better.
