We're all waiting patiently, so sit the F down!

Ohhh, these last few days (7 days actually) were rough. I'm not going to lie, this sucks....although, yesterday and today, things are starting to look up....until next time...dun.dun.duuuuuuun. Anyways, I wanted to share what it's like when you go to "chemo daycare" (yes, that's what they call it). The check-in experience is very similar to going to the grocery store, and going to the deli counter. You walk in, grab a paper number (just like the deli), you sit down and wait for them to call your number, and then when they do, you go up to the counter, and get a "beeper", like at a restaurant, and you sit back down and wait for your beeper to go off. When the beeper goes off, you go back up there, and exchange the beeper for a pod colour and number (i.e. "red34" or "purple7"), and that will tell you where you will be sitting for the day. It's very streamlined and organized, and all you have to do is follow these instructions, and you will be sitting in your pod in a timely manner. Simple enough, right?! Wrong. There's always some aggressive person, or aggressive "loved one", that feels like if they stand around the registration desk, and give the receptionists death stares, that they will get in faster than the rest of us. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. No amount of pacing, sighing, standing, staring, or tapping your foot, will get you in faster. We are all here waiting patiently for our life sustaining medication, so you (and your loved one), are not more important than the rest of us. You are making the rest of us anxious and uneasy. This is not fun for any of us, and NO ONE wants to be here in the first place, so, sit your asses down and wait! That's my PSA for today.
